New Grad Waiting for Bar Results

The Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office is accepting applicants for Assistant State’s Attorney positions from recent graduates awaiting Illinois bar exam results. Experienced Prosecutor

The Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office is seeking an experience attorney licensed in the State of Illinois for an Assistant State’s Attorney Position.  Applicants must currently be licensed to practice in the State of Illinois.  Previously professional experience in prosecution, litigation, criminal law, social services or related fields is required, with a minimum of 5 years of post-law school practice strongly preferred.  A successfully applicant must be skilled in trial advocacy, communication, organization and technology, demonstrate good judgment and the ability to make decisions, and be willing to represent the office in court and with the public.  This includes, but is not limited to, exercising primary responsibility for the preparation of jury and bench trials, motion practice and plea negotiations in felony criminal cases of normal to advanced complexity, and working cooperatively with victim advocates and law enforcement in criminal prosecutions.  Other duties may be assigned by the State’s Attorney.  The position will remain open until filled.  Champaign County is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 12 weeks paid parental leave.  Benefits can be found at: https://www.co.champaign.il.us/jobs Starting annual salary would be $75,000, to $100,000 based upon experience.  Submit resumes and references to Julia Rietz, Champaign County State’s Attorney, 101 E.
